TANGO
This trip begins with your reception at the airport and transfer to a Petit Tango Hotel, that will greet you to the rhythm of the "bandoneón" - a large acordeon- and with a welcome drink.
To start our trip we will briefly learn about the tango's history and it´s most important artist, Carlos Gardel. We will then have lunch in a picturesque restaurant in Palermo neighborhood. In the tango´s origin, the mythical "Café Hansen" in Palermo, can be found: one of the first houses where the wealthy used to hide to learn this dance which wasn't yet socially accepted. Our trip continues in the "Hipódromo de Palermo", the Palermo racetrack, which best expresses the "burrero" feeling of the "porteño", that is, his love for gambling at the racetrack. The most distinguished celebrities could be found here. There was a time when to be seen at the racetrack was a "must". At the same time it represents the cry of the proletarian while spending his last "mango" -buck- at the box office.
At sunset, and alter enjoying a walk around Belgrano neighborhood, your first tango lessons await for you in the dancing floors made of original 1920's wood of your Petit Hotel. The time has come to visit San Telmo, the most important tango neighborhood by far that still preserves its bohemian and nostalgia spirit. The Dorrego square, the "Pasaje de la Defensa" - Defensa alley-, mythical places that tell us the story not only of tango but of the birth of the city of Buenos Aires.
Our next destination is not far: La Boca, genovese immigrants' refuge. They established themselves on the Riachuelo coast at the end of the 18th century giving this quaint neighborhood its identity. Walking along the Caminito Pasaje, we will recall the sailors tales and feel the tango, alive in each corner of this street where Quinquela Martín created his best paintings. Tango and football go hand in hand in the "porteño's" life and it´s here, in this colorfull neighborhood where the Boca Juniors Club is born. Famous for its achievements and mythical stadium -La Bombonera-, built in the heart of La Boca, it still remembers the best argentinian football players, like Diego Maradona.
In the evening, we will enjoy a Tango Show, where the best dancers will show you their skills and sensuality while you enjoy the "porteño" gastronomy.

Our next destination, "Avenida de Mayo", with its unique cafes, specially the "Tortoni". A place that still recalls the gatherings of artists, poets, painters and musicians; where Borges wrote many of his works and Carlos Gardel sang. To sit at a table in the Tortoni and share a delicious "chocolate con churros" -hot chocolate and traditional Argentinian pastries- is to go back in time into its bohemian and nostalgic ambience.

As we continue, we find ourselves in Corrientes Av., full of theatres where the best tango singers performed. In Corrientes and 9 de Julio, right in the heart of the city the Obelisk can be found, a "must see" in Buenos Aires. The night finds us "milongueando" -dancing to the rhythm of the milonga- and practicing everything that you've learned in your tango lessons and during your stay in the best tango city in the world.
