Colonia 48 is a getaway for you
to know even the smallest details of this small
but quaint city on the Río de la Plata
riverside. Disputed between the Portuguese and
the Spanish, traces from those days can still
be found.
The historical zone of Colonia was declared World
Patrimony by UNESCO in 1995.
Since the streets and their surroundings are very
well preserved, they have been used for the making
of several films.
The best option is to visit it with a bike since
there are many places where it´s not allowed
to enter with vehicles.
The sunsets falling on the riverside are a show
worth admiring.
